What AI animation tools say about series

Upscaling: more pixels after the fact

Upscaling enlarges a finished video or image to a higher resolution, filling in the extra pixels with a model rather than drawing the picture again. From 4 source pages, read 2026-09-25; no maker pays to be listed.

DomoAI offers 4K video upscaling on its paid plans, and Neural Frames upscales its output to 1080p on every plan while leaving 4K upscaling off its entry plan.

Upscaled 4K and native 4K are not the same thing. The upscaled clip was made at a lower size, so its drawn detail is what the lower size allowed.

For flat-coloured animation, upscaling usually holds up well: clean lines and solid fills are easier to enlarge than film grain or skin.

It costs time and often credits, so it is best saved for the finished episode rather than every draft.

Animaker names downloads up to 4K and Steve AI 2K; their pages do not say whether that comes from upscaling.

2From a series pipeline

The series side of “Upscaling” looks like this in SceneMixer's own guides:

The samples page for 15 languages lists one finished series per language, each with the cast speaking that language natively and every segment's storyboard shown next to its video.

SceneMixer, AI Short Drama in 15 Languages (2026): Interface, Scripts and the Dialogue Your Cast Actually Speaks — “Can I watch a sample in my language before I start?” (read 2026-10-13)

The same way as a photographic one: the character is generated once as a reference sheet and that image is sent with every shot they are in, along with a couple of face-distinguishing notes. Shots refer to the character rather than re-describing their look.
